1,438 Bed Jail Approved by Council

This evening the City Council passed an ordinance to authorize construction of a new 1,438-bed jail. A criminal justice Working Group appointed by Mayor Landrieu has been debating the size and viewing presentations by experts about national best practices in the criminal justice arena.
