New Orleans, LA – The City Council begins the third week of its 2011 budget hearings this morning at 10 a.m. in the City Council Chamber.
This year, the City’s budget presentation and hearing format follow the “Budgeting for Outcomes” model, which is organized by “result area” rather than department. The Council’s budget hearings are organized thematically around the following result areas: Children and Families, Economic Development, Innovation, Sustainable Communities, Open and Effective Government, and Public Safety.
During last week’s budget hearings, the Council addressed budget items related to blight reduction, as well as the Sustainable Communities, Innovation, Open and Effective Government and Public Safety result areas.
